Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will it get?
Dropping from 320 kbps to 96 kbps makes a file about a third of the size. Mono voice recordings can go even lower.
Will it sound worse?
Lower bitrates lose some detail. 96 to 128 kbps is fine for speech and everyday listening.
What does mono do?
Mono combines the left and right channels into one, which halves the data. It suits voice notes and lectures.
